How New Energy Habits Can Reduce Europe’s Energy Consumption
Europe’s energy transition requires innovation on several fronts. Clean tech has helped, but we also need to find out what leads people to embrace it. Lessons learned from two ebalance-plus researchers.
Towards a clean, affordable and reliable energy system: ebalance-plus’ technology solutions allow the management of green and flexible electricity.
One day after the announcement of the European Action Plan for Grids, the EU-funded project ebalance-plus presents its market ready flexibility management solutions at the ENLIT fair (Paris, France). Panel …
Electric cars join the local power grid at the University of Málaga
Our spanish colleagues are aiming to unlock energy flexibility by using the batteries of electric vehicles and connecting them to the local energy grid. By this the University of Málaga is paving the way for a sustainable energy future.

On day 1 of Enlit Europe our “win-win approach” for both energy consumers and distribution grid operators is featured in Enlit´s magazine.
Focus is on our work in Spain :
- Despite being a climate leader, an uneven electricity supply has led to Spain becoming an energy ‘island.’
- The national grid poses problems for energy consumers: they rarely control their energy supply and a spike in energy prices can lead to financial penalties or even a blackout.
- The ebalance-plus project is finding ways to use smart energy grids to ‘balance’ energy networks. The ebalance-plus platform benefits both consumers and those operating the distribution system: a win-win!
Smart grid solutions and successful integration of renewable energy – The University of Calabria is paving the way
The University of Calabria in southern Italy aims to unlock energy flexibility by using a mobile app connected to smart-grid technologies, energy storage and local renewable energy production.
By involving the end-users and deploying smart grid solutions, the University of Calabria is paving the way for a sustainable energy future.
