IHP In-Lab Emulator
To ensure the adequacy of the ebalanceplus solutions, additional in-lab tests at IHP (Germany) will be performed. These will allow the project partners to define test conditions and scenarios that are hard to realise within a real energy network (shortcuts or cutting lines).
These tests will also allow to define smart appliances that are far more advanced than any of those available on the market.
Additionally, the scenarios and devices can be combined with different user attitudes and willingness to cooperate, resulting in great evaluation potential.
Technology status quo
The IHP in-lab emulator reflects all the layers of the smart grid, including the energy infrastructure and the ICT layer that monitors and controls the electrical grid.
The demonstrator consists of passive and active elements (blocks) and their combination defines the grid topology. The active components include the prosumer, the secondary and primary substation blocks and the passive blocks are the transmission lines that are used to connect the active blocks.
